Families who are looking for a place to have a holiday and a much needed break often have difficulty finding suitable accommodation and leisure facilities to meet all their needs. To help avoid that disappointment, Phab has two well-equipped and comfortable wheelchair accessible holiday homes located at Waterside Holiday Park and Spa beside the sandy beach at Bowleaze Cove in Weymouth, Dorset.
There is level access to Waterside’s heated indoor and outdoor pools, leisure complex, restaurant, bar and shops, and entertainment for children and adults alike, so the whole family can enjoy their time away together confident that both our holiday homes and Waterside’s facilities will meet their needs.
It was great staying in the Phab holiday home. The site is lovely, close to the beach, clean and with a good children’s club. There is also a lovely swimming pool and small shop
The holiday home was excellent, very spacious, clean, and equipped with everything we needed. The contained decking area made it ideal for younger children or those with additional needs, providing extra safety. The surrounding area is lovely and full of great places to visit. I’m sure we will be going back again.
Phab’s well-insulated and double glazed homes are both very comfortably furnished and can accommodate six people. Each has two bedrooms and four single beds (with two converting to a double in the Derwent), a double sofa bed and 3-seater sofa and dining suite. Television and DVD player are provided, along with USB sockets, wi-fi access, central heating and electric fire. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. The accessible shower/wet room has a fold out seat and multiple support rails and a wheeled shower commode chair is provided. Any additional equipment to meet individual needs, such as hoists and pressure-relief mattresses, can be arranged and installed ready for use on arrival. And there is specially built ramped access to a large decked area at the entrance to each holiday home, together with ample parking space.
The Derwent Holiday Home (shown in our photos) was purchased to celebrate our 60th Anniversary in 2017, and we are grateful to the funders who helped us to achieve that. Those supporters included the Hospital Saturday Fund, Clothworkers’ Foundation, Trusthouse Charitable Foundation, Tilehouse Trust, Leeds Building Society Charitable Foundation and the Captain's Charity Golf Day at Tandridge Golf Club.
